This is a lovely property and we had one of our most relaxing holidays here. The hospitality shown by Maria and her family was second to none, not only ahead of our visit but also during our stay. The pool area deserves special mention with the outdoor dining area used every day, offering shade and comfort. The villa is in a great location and it was particularly easy to drive into Athens which we did a couple of times to see the sights (recommend Smile restaurant near the Acropolis museum). Markopolou and Porto Rafti are close by and are great for evening drinks. No concerns about the airport - conveniently close and really not noticeable. Don't forget to visit the Temple of Artemis; a real gem and only 10 minutes away. We are a family of 5, but had plenty of space with the facilities catering for all needs. Our thanks once more to Maria and we would love to return to Greece again in the not too distant future.

Die Villa ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Wohnzimmer ist liebevoll mit ausgesuchten Möbeln ausgestattet. Ein großer Fernseher mit DVD und eine Stereoanlage gehören dazu, wie auch eine gemütliche Sitzecke und zahlreiche weitere Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die geschmackvoll ausgewählte Dekoration lässt einen denken, man wäre im eigenen Wohnzimmer - sie verdient das Prädikat "luxuriös". Die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet mit großem Kühlschrank, 4-Platten Herd und Backofen, zahlreichen Kochutensilien und was wir persönlich hervorragend fanden, auch scharfen Messern. Hier lässt sich auch ein aufwändiges Menü kochen, so man Lust dazu hat. Die Schlafzimmer sind mit modernen Betten ausgestattet, die Matrazen sind gut - wir haben selten so gut in einem Urlaub geschlafen. Alle Fenster sind mit Mückenschutzgittern versehen, die Klimaanlage funktioniert hervorragend und temperiert nach Wunsch. Ein besonderes Highlight ist der Pool: Groß und tief. Der Garten inklusive Pool wird wöchentlich gepflegt, wöchentlich wird auch das Haus gereinigt und neue Bettwäsche wird bereit gestellt. Durch die Nähe zum Flughafen ist das Landen der Flugzeuge hörbar, es war für uns aber nicht störend. Haus und Garten sind wirklich Extraklasse! Die Umgebung: Wer Altertümer und Tempel insbesondere mag, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Ausflüge nach Delphi, Epidaurus, die Akropolis (via U-Bahn in 30 Min.) und Mykene sind mit ca. 1.5 Stunden Fahrtzeit realisierbar und absolut zu empfehlen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist der Poseidon-Tempel in Kap Souion. Selten so eine phantastische Kulisse gesehen. Nicht weit davon gibt es auch Sandstrände, die vergleichweise wenig bevölkert sind - selbst in der Hauptsaison. Die Vermieter: Maria und ihre Mutter sind ausgesprochen hilfsbereit, wenn es um jedwelche Fragen geht. Wir fühlten uns wunderbar aufgehoben in der Villa Vravrona. Noch eine Anmerkung: Wir waren in Griechenland zu der Zeit, als das Referendum stattfand und nicht klar war, wie es mit Griechenland und der EU weiter geht. Wir haben zu keinem Zeitpunkt irgendeine "unfreundliche" Behandlung der Einheimischen erfahren, auch keine Einschränkung hinsichtlich von Lebensmitteln. Wir konnten problemlos mit der Kreditkarte bei Lidl und Carrefour bezahlen. Allerdings hatten wir auch Barmittel dabei. Conclusio: Es waren wunderbare, erholsame Tage in der Villa Vravrona Tower!

We arrived at night to the achingly romantic setting of a floodlit pathway & illuminated pool. In the Villa no extravagance is overlooked. Each room is lavishly furnished & the facilities are top of the range. Water coolers are inside the villa & outside by the pool. I connected my iPod to the stereo player outside & played some of my favourite albums whilst swimming. Blissful! The pool is as spacious & inviting as the pictures suggest. Each morning we were overwhelmed with the breathtaking views of valleys, mountains & the mystical Tower. There is so much to enjoy in the vicinity. We chose not to drive & were concerned that this may restrict us but the villa is so well located close to the airport, Athens & the surrounding beaches that everything was within easy reach by taxi & the cost is relatively inexpensive. The noise from planes is infrequent & minimal so does not disrupt the tranquillity whatsoever. Markopoulo is nearby for shopping trips, as are the gorgeous beaches & romantic tavernas in Porto Rafti to enjoy freshly prepared local cuisine outside right by the sea. Fiki Fiki & Karavidas are favourites. Koropi metro station is a short taxi ride away & the brief train journey to Athens costs merely a few Euros. Alternatively it is not overly expensive to take a taxi directly to Athens for a more relaxed journey. Don’t to miss the museum when you visit the Acropolis & experience the Temple of Hephaestus in the Ancient Agora, the Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hadrian’s Library. The traditional shops & tavernas in the Plaka are enchanting. The Old Tavern of Psaras is recommended. However, the most memorable adventure was the drive to the enthralling Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, an ancient white marble monument that stands against the magnificent backdrop of the sea and hills. Most important of all were our sincere, witty, intelligent and welcoming hosts, who had the perfect balance of always being at our beck & call whilst respecting our privacy. Maria was so generous with her time & offered invaluable advice on what to visit & how to travel. Nothing was too much trouble. We were treated to an authentic Greek experience for a glorious day in the company of her family. We have genuinely made true friends. Maria, Dino, Harry, Johnny & of course Zeus the dog we hope to see you all again more than you could ever know! Thank you for such a memorable & outstanding life experience!
